A mature online platform for an intuitive and spiritual teacher who helps empaths
Disclosure: Erin-Ashley is my partner.
The Problem
Rev. Erin-Ashley Kerti has been at it since 2011, first doing intuitive readings and teaching in-person workshops before moving on to focusing on online teaching.
Although she’s worked hard at becoming more comfortable using technology in her practice, it hasn’t been the easiest road. Like many spiritual business owners, it’s not first nature for her.
When she first started her business, getting the technology working felt like a stressful slog.
She wanted to do the work she loves, helping people step into their soul purposes and heal the world.
But the technology kept getting in the way.
When I first entered the picture, she had just completed her training and was starting up her business officially. She already had a website another developer had set up, but he left her hanging and she didn’t really know how to use it.
Booking sessions, taking payments, publishing blog articles, effective marketing practices? It all took valuable time and energy away from her work.
The Solution
I took over the brunt of the website platform, redesigning the website multiple times over the years, as her spiritual work grew and changed along the way.
Using my knowledge and experience in design and online marketing, I was able to create a mobile-friendly website that reflected her vision and purpose at each point.
Through each iteration, there have been a few consistent features of her work to highlight.
Blogging helps connect with students and clients
Erin-Ashley started blogging from the beginning, and that practice continues to this day. It includes an assortment of different content, from the written word to video.
Regardless of the type, it lives in the same place and gets presented accordingly.
You never know whether someone reading one of your blog entries is a loyal reader or someone who just discovered you for the first time.
You want to connect with both groups of people, but you have to do it in slightly different ways.
That’s where good design practices can really help.
One thing we like to do is to greet people who read all the way through the content with a next step. Usually it means letting them know about the benefits of joining the email list.
Here’s an example of what you might see at the bottom of one of Erin-Ashley’s blog posts.
Grouping the best content
There are other ways to let people know what else to check out from you. One of my favorites is by grouping together your best content on the most important topics your readers and clients care about.
Helping empaths is a core part of Erin-Ashley’s mission with Spiritual Mechanic.
So we set up a separate “resource page” that features the best content she’s created over the years designed to help empaths. We link to that page from just about everyone on the Spiritual Mechanic website, using the eye-catching graphic above.
When people get to that page, here’s what they see.
We wrote the introduction copy above to speak to people’s lived experiences.
Many empaths suspect they are empaths but they don’t know for sure. They have a set of symptoms with no diagnosis, so to speak.
And an undiagnosed empath often has a series of emotional struggles.
That’s where Erin-Ashley comes in.
After the copy above, we share with people Erin-Ashley’s best content for empaths, organized for them in a step-by-step way specially designed for them to take in.
Once people read through (and watch) the content, they have the option of joining Erin-Ashley’s email list for more info about how she can help.
Promoting her services and classes
Erin-Ashley offers spiritual sessions that include readings and healings, on top of the online courses she teaches.
The Spiritual Mechanic website promotes these services and products, making sure to highlight Erin-Ashley’s stellar reputation by featuring testimonials and endorsements from her clients.
It’s normal for readers and prospective clients to feel apprehensive about booking a spiritual session. They’re opening themselves and their energy up to someone. Understandably they want to make sure Erin-Ashley is someone they can trust!
Testimonials help accomplish that goal by communicating openly that Erin-Ashley respects her clients and they are safe with her.
We also try to explain carefully how exactly the sessions work and what people can expect, as you can see below.
Laying things out nicely like that helps people feel more comfortable because they understand what to expect.
It also makes it easier for Erin-Ashley because it means that she and her clients are on the same page about how working together will unfold. Less room for miscommunication!
We also have the online courses set up on Kajabi, which has helped streamline the way customers can pay, enroll, and get access to the training right away.
Furthermore, we switched to ConvertKit (after many years) on aweber and make use of numerous integrations so that customers have a seamless experience and are able to get what they need when they need it.
This setup has yielded many repeat customers.
The Results
Thanks in part to our work together, Erin-Ashley’s business Spiritual Mechanic has grown to include thousands of email subscribers and hundreds of students in her premium classes.
The website has helped contribute to her reach on other platforms, too.
11,000 people have subscribed to her YouTube channel, where one of her videos, Five Types of Empaths, has welcomed more than 300,000 viewers since its release.
Her students have gone on to start their own professional intuitive practices as well, further spreading love and light in the world.
